Local Soccer: Hapoel TA, authorities reach attendance agreement

Hapoel Tel Aviv and the police came to a compromise on Tuesday and 2,350 of the club's fans will be able to attend the UEFA Cup first-round qualifying match against Juvenes/Dogana of San Marino at Rishon Lezion on Thursday. The police initially decided on Monday that only 350 Hapoel supporters would be allowed into the municipal stadium in Rishon because of an insufficient number of emergency exits. Hapoel petitioned to the High Court of Justice earlier on Tuesday, claiming that the police's decision was unreasonable, but the team eventually agreed to retract its petition as part of the mutual compromise. Juvenes/Dogana's amateur squad arrived in Israel on Tuesday and the players were concerned most of all with the weather conditions rather the location of the match. "We need a lot of luck to win the match and we hope that it won't be too hot on Thursday night as it's much cooler in Italy," said Davide Vagnetti, who also plays for the San Marino national team.
