Reigning Premier League champion Maccabi Haifa have made the domestic season boring with its unbeaten record, but has provided yet another scandal off the field. A Haifa player was arrested over the weekend after allegedly harassing a young woman. The authorities have issued a publication ban regarding the identity of the player. The incident occurred in the Tel Aviv area, where the player was partying with his friends. The player didn't cooperate with investigators and repeatedly claimed, "She was hitting on me." The greens' talented winger Michael Zandberg, who spoke with the player by phone around the time of the incident, was called in for questioning. "This is my first time in a police station," a surprised Zandberg said. "The investigators were nice to me and I told them all I know." The arrested player was still in police custody Monday night and will likely be arraigned Tuesday morning.
