Israel’s national rugby team took a significant step towards securing its progress to the next stage of the World Cup qualifiers on Saturday, beating Andorra 26-5 on the road in its second match in Division 2B of the European Nations Cup. The blue-and-white, which is currently placed at No.55 in the world rankings, thrashed Serbia 48-22 last week and plays its next two games at Wingate Institute in April, hoping to close in on first place in the group and earn promotion to Division 2A. “The players showed real courage and sacrifice and we are now the favorites in the group,” said Israel coach Ra’anan Penn.
