Night cricket returns after break

The Gold Insurance Bet Shemesh Lightning produced an excellent performance by beating Modi’in EasyIsrael by 8 Runs.

Night Cricket resumed resumed last week after a mid-season break.
In the Second Division, where all of the teams are chasing league-leaders Pearl Wanderers Cricket Club, the Gold Insurance Bet Shemesh Lightning produced an excellent performance by beating Modi’in EasyIsrael by 8 Runs.
The Lightning batted first and scored 114 runs, and then reduced Modi’in to 106 in a match that went down to the last over.
Pommeranz Juice Good Old Boys cemented its position in second place with a 10-run win over the much-improved KAT ISRAEMPLOY Tigers.
PJGOB scored 76 with KIT scoring 66.
In the week’s only First Division match, the Modi’in Lions scored a massive 73-run win over CS 8 Ra’anana.
Asked to bat first, Ra’anana was soon in trouble and could not adjust to the tight bowling and good fielding of the Lions, scoring 65.
Modi’in, which included Israel national team players Eshkol Solomon and Shailesh Bangera sharing in a partnership of 50, made light work of reaching its target and ended up scoring 138 runs.
The performance ensured that Modi’in stayed on the heels of league leaders Telalivit, whose game vs Sri Lanka Jerusalem was rained out.
This week sees Telalivit come up against inHasharon.co.il in the early match on Saturday evening, with Pearl Wanderers facing the KAT ISRAEMPLOY Warriors in the 7:45 p.m. match.
