Shahar Pe'er's hopes of a second WTA Tour title in as many weeks came to an end Saturday with a narrow defeat to the second seeds in the doubles semifinal at the Bangalore Open. Local favorite Sania Mirza and South African Liezel Huber edged Pe'er and Mariya Koryttseva of Ukraine 7-5, 6-7(6), 6-4 to advance to Sunday s final. Pe'er won her first WTA Tour title last week in the singles event at the Pattaya Open in Thailand. Her opponent in that match, Croatian Jelena Kostanic, reached the singles final in Bangalore by defeating Hungarian Melinda Czink 6-0, 7-6(2). She'll meet Italy's Mara Santangelo on Sunday for the title. Dudi Sela's run at the Hypo Alpe-Adria Open in Belgrade ended Friday with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 defeat against Italian qualifier Federico Luzzi in the quarterfinals. Serbian Janko Tipsarevic, who defeated both Sela and Noam Okun in last week's Davis Cup tie as Serbia-Montenegro beat Israel 4-1 in Ramat Hasharon, advanced to the final when Frenchman Michael Llodra retired with Tipsarevic up 6-4, 2-1. He'll meet Tomas Cakl, who beat Luzzi in the other semi, in the final of the $100,000 ATP Challenger event.
