Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich s hopes of back-to-back appearances at an ATP Masters Series final came to an end Friday when they lost 3-6, 6-1, 10-6 to Paul Hanley of Australia and Zimbabwe s Kevin Ullyett in the quarterfinals in Hamburg, Germany.
The sixth-seeded Israelis were finalists last week at Rome, where they lost to Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor. Knowles and Nestor upset the top-ranked Bryan brothers 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-5 on Saturday to reach Sunday s final against Hanley and Ullyett, who overcame fifth seeds Fabrice Santoro and Nenad Zimonjic 6-4, 7-5 in Saturday s other semifinal.
