Second Annual Jerusalem Marathon set to kick off, featuring more than 15,000 runners.

Over 15,000 runners are making their final preparations for the five different races to take place as part of Friday’s Second Annual Jerusalem Marathon.
The full marathon participants, hailing from 50 different countries, will run past the Knesset and Supreme Court buildings as well as the Old City and Mount of Olives before crossing the finish line at Sacher Park.
The full marathon will get underway at 7 a.m., with the half-marathon to begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 10km race to start at 10:15 a.m.
Due to the marathon, the following traffic changes will be in effect: Ben Tzvi road will close at 11 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, and stay closed until the end of the races. The marathon will take place along the following streets: Ruppin, the Givat Ram Campus, Rabin Boulevard, Tchernichovsky, Palmach, HaNasi, Keren Hayesod, King George, Jaffa, Highway 1, Lehi, Buber, Churchill, Jaffa Gate, the Way of the Armenian Patriarchs in the Old City, Zion Gate, David Remez, King David, Jabotinsky, Emek Refaim, Beit Lehem, Hebron, Pierre Konig, Kovshei Katamon, and Sacher Park.
Cars parked along the race route will not be allowed to move starting from 10:00 pm on Thursday. Parking lots around Sacher Park, including in the National Precinct, will be open to runners only.
The light rail will operate from Har Herzl to the Central Bus Station, and from Ammunition Hill to Pisgat Zev. There will be shuttles in between the light rails.
