Shahaff takes February medal

A field of 52 golfers participate in February monthly medal held at the Ga’ash Golf Club.

A field of 52 golfers participated in the February monthly medal held at the Ga’ash Golf Club on Tuesday.
To encourage the members to stay for the club members annual general meting, the competition had a shot gun start.
The A division once again saw Zalman Shahaff taking first place, followed by Ilan Cohen.
Shahaff played excellent golf, going out in a 2-over par 37 for the front nine, which included one birdie, six pars, a bogey and a double bogey.
Shahaff came in the back nine with a 1-over par 36 which included eight pars and a bogey. Playing off a 9 handicap, he scored a net 64.
The B division went to Gideon Golan with a net 69, followed by Lawrence Goodman on net 72.
Evi Wyler won the C division with a net 64 and in second place was Hadassa Alon on net 70.
Nearest to the pin prizes went to Amiram Zantkern and Miki Hertzog.
At the annual general meeting, Avi Dagan was voted the new Club captain for 2011, and outgoing captain Yoram Bernstein gave his annual report.
The Ga’ash Golf Club will continue its efforts to support the community by hosting a charity tournament on Thursday, April 7.
All proceeds will go to Natal, the Israel Trauma Center for Victims of Terror and War.
