Bnei Sakhnin took a significant step towards a meeting with Spanish giant Deportivo La Coruna in the third round of the Intertoto Cup after defeating FK Renova 2-1 in the first leg of the second round in Macedonia on Sunday.
Sakhnin will host the second leg this coming Saturday and will be confident of progressing thanks to the crucial road victory.
Khaled Khalaila gave the visitors the lead in the 40th minute from the penalty spot after Mosa Sha'ban was brought down in the box and Abed Rabbah doubled the advantage in the 64th minute.
Just a minute later Darko Ignjatovski cut the hosts deficit, but Sakhnin held on for the important win and will be looking to finish off the job in five days time.
