Anya Gostomelsky finished eighth in the Women's 100m backstroke final during the World Short Course Swimming Championships at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Thursday.
Gostomelsky clocked a time of 58.49 seconds, six hundredths of a second slower than the Israeli record she set in the semis on Wednesday.
The Israeli did, however, set a new Israeli best mark in the 50m butterfly on Thursday, advancing to Friday's final from fourth position in a time of 25.99s.
