Shahar Pe'er, ranked fifth in the Stanford Tournament in California was surprisingly beaten by Belarusian Olga Govorzova who was not ranked at all.
Pe'er was thus kicked out of the tournament, Israel Radio reported Thursday overnight.
Pe'er lost 4-6, 5-7, 2-6 to Govorzova during a match that lasted for two and a half hours.
