Tennis: Shahar excited for Olympics

Shahar Pe'er has revealed how she can't wait to take part in the Olympics later this summer. "I'm definitely looking forward to the Olympics," she enthused while speaking to The Jerusalem Post at Wimbledon this week. "I've never played in them before so I'm very happy to go to Beijing and represent Israel. There are a few tournaments before that and a bit of time to go until then, but I'm looking forward to it and will try my best when I get there." Speaking about Israeli tennis, while not commenting on the ITA or Israeli Olympic Committee, she did agree that it's a shame there's hardly any youngsters coming through. She said: "There is a lot of politics involved and improvements need to be made in most situations. It's true in Israel you don't see a lot of youngsters coming through which is a shame. "We have great facilities in Israel but don't have those players coming through. It's only me and Dudi so it doesn't look very bright. But I'm not the person to change it, I'm trying to look after myself right now."
