Shahar Pe'er shook off her recent poor form on Tuesday, defeating Shuai Peng of China 6-1, 6-0 in the first round of the JPMorgan Chase Open in Los Angeles. Prior to the victory, Pe'er had lost five of her previous seven singles matches, but her performance against Peng showed the Israeli number one is on the right track of rediscovering her best form. The win was sweet revenge for Pe'er after being knocked out in the second round of Wimbledon by Peng. The Israeli's next opponent will be Paola Suarez of Argentina. Suarez, who was once a top 20 player has fallen in recent years and is now ranked 253 in the world. Meanwhile, Israeli doubles duo Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich, who are ranked sixth in the world, lost Wednesday night in the second round of the Rogers Cup in Toronto to Wayne Arthurs and Dominik Hrbaty 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.
