Women's flag football team finishes fourth at Euros

The national women's flag football team reached the bronze medal game at the European championships on Sunday, but left Helsinki without the hardware.
In their fourth and final opening round match at the European Federation of American Football Senior Flag Championships, the blue-and-white defeated Austria 32-19 to clinch the third seed in the medal round.
The bronze medal game kicked off immediately after the match against Austria ended. Israel went flat and lost 317 to the fourth seed, Sweden, a club they had beaten in the opening round.
Coach Yonah Mishaan expressed his disappointment with the results. "We were good enough to beat any of the teams with the exception of Finland, which is in a class all to itself," he said from Helsinki.
He added that the problem was mental toughness, lack of concentration and breakdowns in team play. "We have to work hard on not making the mistakes that take us out of the game," he explained. "We end up beating ourselves."
Israel did not compete in the men's event, which was won by France.
