After finishing regular time and overtime tied at 1-1, Germany defeated Argentina on penalty kicks Friday night to advance to the semi-finals of the World Cup.
The Argentines folded in the face of the immense pressure, as two of their penalty kicks were blocked by German goaltender Jens Lehman.
The home-favorite Germans were on target with all four of their attempts.
