The financially beleaguered Foreign Ministry has found a champion in President Reuven Rivlin.

Although the style of oratory of all three speakers differed, each used Hanukkah as an analogy for lighting a candle to drive out the darkness of pain and evil.
He noted that some of the leading figures in contemporary Jewish history such as Theodor Herzl, Nahum Sokolov and Benjamin Ze'ev Jabotinsky "were writers and reporters who told our story."
Lauding their confidence and their constant exercise, Rivlin said that without these attributes, even the best athlete in the world would fail.
“We Jews in Israel and the Diaspora are mutually responsible for each other and must stand shoulder to shoulder,” said Rivlin.
Netanyahu chose to pass the haredi (ultra-Orthodox) conscription bill and keep the current Knesset intact out of concern that Rivlin would ask a different Likud MK to form the government.

The president went on a river tour of Copenhagen visiting the developmental areas of the city, accompanied by the mayor Frank Jensen and the city's regional development division.
