Jacob's Ladder winter fest

The spring version of this festival is in its thirtieth year, and for the second year in a row, a winter version will be held.

Next weekend at Nof Ginosar, on the shores of Lake Kinneret, the air will be filled with folk music: it's time once again for the Jacob's Ladder winter weekend. The spring version of this festival is in its thirtieth year, and for the second year in a row, a winter version will be held. The indoor festival will feature 24 hours of Celtic and country, contemporary and traditional folk music. Four featured artists will perform. Sliotar will attend the festival from Ireland, with a show featuring jigs, reels and songs to get the audience dancing. Country Roads (Israel's leading country-style band) will present favorite American folk, pop and rock music from the 1960s and 1970s performed in authentic country style. Celtic Connection, a young Israeli Celtic band, will perform traditional Celtic fare using the fiddle, guitar, tinwhistles and recorders. Shay & Friends will play a wide and colorful variety of contemporary and traditional folk songs. Activities will be available for the whole family. There will be workshops in voice and movement as well as in traditional Irish dance. Everyone will be able to participate in American square dancing, folk sing-alongs and paper cutting lessons. Children will be entertained with games. And, weather permitting, there will be an outdoor jam session as well as tractor rides around the kibbutz.
