New Yorkers strip down to their underwear for the city's 10th annual 'No Pant' subway prank.
By JPOST.COM STAFF
New Yorkers brazed the bitter cold on Sunday, as hundreds upon hundreds pulled down their pant (or skirts) to ride the subway in just their underwear. As part of the city's 10th annual "No Pants Ride," participants removed all their outer garments from the waist down while keeping on their winter jackets, sweaters and even ear muffs. It seemed like just another typically uninteresting Sunday in New York City; but at exactly 3 p.m. all that changed. Approximately 3,500 participants at six different stations spread across the city's burrows bordered subways and as soon the doors snapped shut, began to calmly strip from the waist down. The prank was organized by Improv Everywhere, a group whose slogan is "we cause scenes". What started out in 2002 as a small prank with seven participants has now grown to be a worldwide event. This year alone 49 other cities across the world, including Washington D.C, London, Toronto and Zurich will join New Yorkers for some "no pants" action.
