Despite the spurt in merger activity in the airline sector around the globe, analysts were skeptical any mergers were in the cards in Israel given the small size of the industry.
"We haven't heard anything about consolidations in the Israeli market," said Yuval Zehira, an analyst at IBI Investments. "A merger between Arkia and Israir would make perfect sense but it doesn't seem this is in the cards."
