Israel and France signed an agreement this week designed to increase air travel between the two countries. According to the pact signed by Arik Ben-Ari, the deputy director of the Israel Airports Authority, and his French counterpart, the countries may now designate two carriers each to fly between Israel and France as opposed to only one before.
In addition, the agreement expands the number of French cities in which the airlines may land.
Some 732,000 passengers travelled between the two countries in 2006.
