A new Tel Aviv Municipality Web site is attempting to bring the color and the spirit of the city to life in English. The Web site, visit-tlv.com, was launched by the Association for Tourism Tel-Aviv-Jaffa and offers detailed information about the city's restaurants, hotels, nightlife, historical sites, beaches, day and night tours and more. "Tel Aviv joins the world's biggest metropolitans with the launching of the Web site and comes into line with the leading tourist cities around the world," said Esther Garger, the director-general of the Association. "While 2007 was a record year for Tel Aviv in the number of tourists, we anticipate further growth this year as well. Launching this Web site will assist and upgrade the service for foreign tourists to the city," she said. Simultaneously, the association also launched another service for Tel Aviv tourists - Segway mobile information centers. The hard-to-miss mobile centers work seven days a week, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and they can be seen rolling between the Tel Aviv port, the promenade along the seashore, in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood and along Rothschild Avenue. The stewards on the Segways supply accessible tourist information, maps, leaflets to unique events and happenings and more.
