Five years later, Gush Katif evacuees find solace in desert

Two hundred families establish Halutza communities of the Negev, despite proximity to Gaza and falling rockets.

Following five years of living in temporary residence, 70 families who were evacuated from the Gush Katif settlements are starting new permanent communities only kilometers away from their old homes.
Over the next couple of months, two new communities will be inhabited by 200 families just a few kilometers away from the Gaza and Egyptian borders in the area of the Negev now called Halutza.
