A TV cameraman was killed as he covered a police drug raid in one of Rio de Janeiro's most dangerous shantytowns.Forty-six-year-old Gelson Domingos da Silva of Bandeirantes TV was shot in the chest by a member of the heavily armed drug militia in the early Sunday morning.Though Da Silva was wearing a Brazilian Armed Forces certified bullet-proof vest, gunfire from a submachine gun was able to penetrate the vest and kill him.The raid on the Antares favela by Brazilian Special operations Unit is part of a larger effort to reduce drug activity and crime ahead of the 2014 World Cup.These are the last images he recorded before he was shot. Da Silva leaves behind a wife and three children.
