Amateur video out of Syria purportedly shows armored vehicles entering the beleaguered city of Homs.
Syrian troops were deployed in Homs more than two months ago to crush dissent against President Bashar Assad.
Footage purportedly from the night before shows demonstrators out on the street in Syria's third-largest city and hometown of Assad's wife Asma.
In Hama more demonstrations. The protests come amid reports that security forces have mounted house-to-house arrests.
In al-Boukamal a night protest as demonstrators sing a song called 'Leave Bashar.' Al-Boukamal has been surrounded by the Syrian military for more than a week.
On Wednesday Syrian troops reportedly killed 11 civilians when they stormed a city near Damascus.
With international media largely barred from Syria it is difficult to verify accounts from activists or the government.
