RuPaul to Republicans: 'Don't be a drag'

Drag queen crashes New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary scene; "Really this country is all about freedom," he says.

Drag queen RuPaul crashed the New Hampshire Republican primary scene on Saturday, making it clear he should not be confused with US Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul.
"You know I'm really not a political person by nature," RuPaul responded to a comment from the crowd mentioning Republican presidential nomination candidate Rick Santorum. "But I do believe that every time a man puts on a pussycat wig and a pair of cha cha heels, he's making a political statement."

Santorum has drawn criticism for comparing same-sex marriage to polygamy and for supporting the reinstatement of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the army.
Singer, actor, reality TV star and first drag queen supermodel RuPaul has been known for his involvement in the gay community.
"Really this country is all about freedom," he explained.
