Commander of mixed gender battalion suspended for improper relations

The commander of the IDF's Karakal Battalion has been suspended from his post for 30 days on suspicion of conducting improper relations with a subordinate.

The suspension followed an investigation by the IDF's military police into the commander's conduct while leading the mixed gender battalion. According to reports in Hebrew media outlets, the relations were consensual.

Karakal is often cited as a success story for female integration into IDF combat roles.
