Palestinian rioters clashed Saturday afternoon with Israeli Border Police at the Shuafat Refugee Camp in east Jerusalem, following the funeral of a Palestinian who was shot by security forces in response to his initial fire.

Security forces shot in the leg and wounded a Palestinian who approached them with a firebomb during Saturday's clashes. The man was evacuated to a hospital in Ramallah for medical treatment.

The officers used crowd control means to disperse the stone-and-Molotov-throwing rioters. The crowds then began retreating toward a nearby mosque.

Overnight between Friday and Saturday, Israeli Border Police officers shot 22-year-old Ahmad Qali,  who had initiated fire at the forces during a riot at the Shuafat Refugee Camp in Jerusalem. The Palestinian man later died from the gunshot wounds.

Hamas said in a statement that the man was one of its members.

Earlier Saturday, a Palestinian teenager stabbed and wounded two Jewish men  near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem's Old City.

Police shot and killed the 16-year-old attacker at the scene on the capital's Hanevi'im Street.
