Magen David Adom paramedics and the IDF rescued on Saturday a Palestinian baby who lost consciousness at the Allenby Border Crossing between Israel and Jordan.
The baby, aged six months, stopped breathing and lost vital signs, including his pulse, before being successfully revived by MDA paramedics on the scene.
He was traveling with his Nablus-based family to Jordan when the emergency occurred. A second MDA crew arrived on the scene and continued resuscitation efforts until an Israel Air Force helicopter arrived and airlifted the baby to the Haddasah University Medical Center in Jerusalem's Ein Kerem.
Doctors have listed the baby as being in serious but stable condition.
The Allenby Border Terminal is the only crossing point between the West Bank and Jordan for Palestinians as well as for the export and import of Palestinian goods.
