UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday toured a Hamas infiltration tunnel uncovered by the IDF leading from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel near Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha.
Ban visited areas in Gaza and southern Israel that were bombarded during the recent seven-week conflict between Hamas and the Jewish state. He lamented the destruction in the coastal enclave and called for a quick reconstruction effort.
Afterward, Ban met with Israeli residents of a kibbutz near the Gaza border that endured heavy rocket fire from Palestinian terrorist.
The UN chief was in the region following a donors conference in Cairo for the reconstruction of Gaza.
