Paula Abdul, the American celebrity known for her roles as a judge on American Idol and The X Factor, will meet with President Shimon Peres Tuesday as part of her first visit to Israel.
Abdul, who was born to Jewish parents and is an observant Jew, will also have a bat mitzva ceremony at the Western Wall.
As part of a 10-day tour in Israel, Abdul will tour locations in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Galilee.
“She will also have the opportunity to explore Israel’s fashion, dance, culinary and music scene and meet with some of Israel’s best in these fields,” according to the Tourism Ministry, which said she landed in Tel Aviv on Monday.
In 2006, Abdul told an American Idol audience that visiting Israel was her “dream.”
