Defense Minister: Barcelona an Islamic attack on free world

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman condemned the attacks in the Spanish towns of Barcelona and Cambrils on Friday, saying that they are, "another horrific attempt by radical Islam to harm the countries of the free world."

Liberman added that Israel, along with other Western countries, will defeat terror by strengthening security and intelligence cooperation.

"We must fight resolutely and decisively not only with the perpetrators of terrorism, but also with those who send them, those who finance them and those who inspire them," the Israeli Defense Minister added.

Liberman also expressed his condolences to the families of the murdered.

The Barcelona attack left 13 dead and more than a hundred injured after the suspect drove a van into crowds along a busy tourist street. Police said they had also killed five attackers on Thursday night in Cambrils, a town south of Barcelona.
