Explosion rocks German consulate in Afghan city

BERLIN - An explosion rocked the German consulate in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan, late on Thursday, a spokesman for NATO forces in the area said.

Troops from the North Atlantic alliance were investigating the blast, which occurred in front of the building, he told Reuters by telephone.

There were no immediate details any casualties.
