Family to protest dangerous intersection, after tragic death

After a young woman was tragically killed in a traffic accident at a Road 38 intersection last Friday, her family will be staging a protest regarding the junction's safety exactly one week later.

Keren Cohen, 33 years old from Beit Shemesh, died in a collision with a truck near Givat Yeshayahu on Friday morning, despite attempts of Magen David Adom paramedics to revive her.

The demonstration will take place on Friday at 9 a.m. at the intersection in question – Tzomet Srigim – which Cohen's family members describe as "endangering our lives every day." Calling for infrastructural repairs of the area, they said they are taking action in order to prevent additional deaths on the road.

Cohen was in her third year of law school and also worked at Rami Levi. Over the past year, she lost 73 kg. and ran in many marathons, her family members said.

Cohen was the aunt of the director of The Jerusalem Post's editor-in-chief's office, Sapir Peretz.
