Islamic State claims car bomb attacks on military checkpoints in Egypt's Sinai

CAIRO, July 7 - Islamic State said in a statement it was responsible for a deadly car bomb attack and assault on military checkpoints in Egypt's North Sinai on Friday.

At least 23 soldiers were killed and 26 injured when two car bombs hit two checkpoints just south of Rafah, according to security sources.
