Israel officially banned the Islamic State on Wednesday, in an official declaration signed by Minister of Defense Moshe Ya'alon.

The decree outlaws meetings of any kind between Islamic State members and calls it an illegal organization.

Ya'alon also signed a similar declaration that outlaws the Abdullah al-Azzam Brigades, a Sunni jihadist group linked to al-Qaida.
