Israel Police nab 2 teen arson suspects in Jerusalem area

Police on Wednesday arrested two teenage arson suspects in the Jerusalem area after they attempted to ignite fire to several sites near the Atarot industrial zone.

Police said the two were found in possession of equipment to start fires, including wood and tires. After a short chase, police arrested the two 16-year-old Jerusalem residents. The suspects were brought in for further questioning before appearing before a Jerusalem court.

Israeli security forces have been operating to detect and prevent arsonists from intentionally starting fires after hundreds of blazes raged across the country last week and earlier this week.
