Match canceled after local Bulgarian fans attempt to attack visiting Israeli team

Violence erupted at a soccer match in Bulgaria between Ashdod F.C. and CSKA Sofia Monday when fans of the home team burst onto the field.

According to Israeli Radio, the match was canceled when the Sofia supporters, wielding potentially dangerous items, attempted to harm the Israeli players who were forced to leave the field out of concern for their safety.
