Ministers vote to recognize EU medical licenses

New immigrants from EU countries will have their medical credentials automatically recognized if a bill approved by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation Sunday becomes law.
The proposal would apply to doctors, dentists and pharmacists, making it easier for people who make Aliya from Europe find jobs.
According to Yisrael Beytenu MK Oded Forrer, who proposed the bill, said that “this is the beginning of a revolution in the area of immigration, absorption and health. Many did not make Aliya because of the bureaucracy in getting a medical license, but now they can and continue their professional lives.”
Forrer also said that Israel has been dropping in the OECD’s rankings of doctors per 1,000 people, and this can help in that area, as well.
