Name released of Israeli tourist who drowned in Guatemala

The Israeli tourist who drowned in Guatemala after a sports-related accident was named by the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday as Hadas Ayash, 56, from Tivon.

The Israeli embassy in the Central American country were working to repatriate her body back to Israel, according to the ministry.

The ministry added that the precise circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. Local media reported that Ayash had fallen from the dinghy she was using to participate in a sporting activity at Semuc Champey in the center of the country.
