The Israel security cabinet reacted to the swearing in of the Fatah-Hamas unity government, saying it will oppose Hamas' participation in West Bank elections.

The cabinet said it will hold the new Palestinian government responsible for actions that harm Israel's security, including Gaza rockets.

The cabinet also agreed to give Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu authority to impose sanctions against the Palestinian government.

"Abbas today said yes to terror and no to peace," Netanyahu said.
