Netanyahu: Strong Israel is main stop-gap against Mideast collapse

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday described as "tragic" blame placed on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for problems in the region.
Speaking at the The Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said that a "strong democratic Israel is one of the main stop-gaps against the collapse of the Middle East."
"Israel is the most important and the strongest bastion against radical Islam in the region," he stressed. "Not the cause, the obstacle."
