Netanyahu requests closure of Al Jazeera's Jerusalem office

The prime minister on Wednesday called for Al Jazeera's Jerusalem bureau to be closed.

In a post on his Facebook, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the outlet of inciting violence, particularly in relation to the recent clashes in Jerusalem.

"The Al-Jazeera network continues to incite violence around the Temple Mount. I have appealed to law enforcement agencies several times to close the Al-Jazeera office in Jerusalem. If this does not happen because of legal interpretation, I will work to legislate the laws required to remove Al Jazeera from Israel," he wrote.
