Israeli authorities on Tuesday arrested a 20-year-old resident of the east Jerusalem neighborhood of a-Tur on suspicion for carrying out a stabbing attack last week, police announced Wednesday.

The attack occurred Thursday when a Jewish man left a convenience store near the Mount of Olives and passed  the assailant, who picked up a sharpened plank and stabbed the man in the upper chest.

After the suspect stabbed the man he fled the scene. The injured man took a ride to the closest police station where he received first aid and Magen David Adom was called.
