Two Israelis were arrested Wednesday in Bulgaria for allegedly killing a compatriot in Samokov, a tourist resort some 55 kilometers from Sofia, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Thursday.

According to the ministry, the two suspects – whose names have not been released – allegedly killed the third man and dumped his body in the city. They were arrested after a passerby reportedly saw them commit the alleged crime.

Local media said an abandoned SUV was found half a kilometer from where the body was found, and that the suspects were found some two kilometers from the site.

Israel's embassy in Sofia is in contact with local authorities about the matter.
