US ambassador David Friedman to arrive in Israel in coming weeks

The Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry has confirmed that designated US Ambassador David Friedman will arrive in Israel on May 15 and present his credentials to President Reuven Rivlin the following day.
Ambassadors usually present their credentials according to the order in which they arrive in the country. In view of the projected visit to Israel later this month by President Donald Trump, the Foreign Ministry made an exception in Friedman’s case and moved the presentation of credentials from mid-June to the earlier date.
The Thai and Spanish ambassadors will also present their credentials on the same day.
According to a senior household staff member for the US ambassador said Friedman will spend time in official residences located in both Herzliya Pituah and in Jerusalem.
The staff member did not know whether Friedman would stay in one of the properties in the capital he personally owns or one owned by the US government.
