The condition of former president Shimon Peres remained serious but stable on Wednesday  morning a week eight days after his massive hemorrhagic stroke, and the “process of weaning him from his respirator has advanced,” according to his office.

The 93-year-old Peres underwent another computerized tomography (CT) scan. His doctors decided to continue conservative treatment and ongoing neurological followup.
