Ministers and MKs wish Christians in the IDF a Merry Christmas
Lawmakers from the coalition and opposition wished a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, in a video produced by the Forum for Christian Enlistment in the IDF.
Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, Science and Technology Minister Ofir Akunis, Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid, MK Tzipi Livni (Zionist Union) and others expressed holiday wishes in the video.
The lawmakers also wished Father Gabriel Nadaf, the forum’s chairman, luck and thanked him for his work to bring more Israeli Christians in the IDF.
Edelstein said the forum “is doing great work for coexistence in this country that is important to all citizens, Jewish, Christian and Muslim.”
“To those who are fearlessly leading the encouragement to serve in the IDF or civilian service in Israel,” Livni said, “first of all, well done. This service is part of us being one society.”
Levin praised Nadaf for “appearing in important international forums, representing Israel in the best way and doing important work for Israel.”
Nadaf thanked the MKs for the wishes and for their support for Christian enlistment in the IDF, and said they show “willingness to cooperate for the good of the Christian minority in Israel.”
