Soldiers fired at the legs of two Palestinians who were attempting to climb over the security fence with Israel in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday.
The IDF confirmed that the Palestinians were hit by the gunfire. The two men continued to climb the fence after they were told to stop and only at this point did the soldiers open fire, the army said.
The two wounded Palestinians were part of a demonstration by some dozen people taking place in the area at the time, the IDF said.
The Palestinian news agency Ma’an reported that the wounded Palestinians were admitted to a nearby hospital in Gaza in satisfactory condition.
