The Ministry of Defense, in charge of the welcoming ceremony for the US president, completed preparations on Tuesday for the visit of US President Barack Obama.
"After weeks of preparation and planning, we are prepared for the arrival of
President Barack Obama," head of operations at the Defense Ministry said.
In a special 80-meter area at Ben Gurion Airport, the Israel
Defense Forces will mark the start of Obama's three-day trip to Israel and the
Palestinian territories with a display of anti-missile defenses, funded partly
by the United States. The display will include the Iron Dome, the Magic Wand, Arrow 2 and Arrow 3.
Some 250 guests, 250 VIPs and 300 journalists from
Israel and around the world will attend the official welcoming ceremony at the
airport midday Wednesday.
