Military police have opened an investigation into the incident. According to Army Radio, military police are searching the area for the suspects.

A similar incident occurred last October, when masked men entered the same base and bound the soldier on guard duty. The assailants stole four weapons from the guards on duty before escaping. Military police believed that the infiltrators received assistance from within the base.
